Just over a year ago a group of Occupational Therapists (OTs) studying for doctorates in the North West of England set up an informal network to share experiences, information, resources and to give each other support.
As a group we have connected in a number of ways, via Skype, through Facebook and, a few of us, have met face to face.
Since the group started we’ve had a number of request from OTs outside the region to join. Our response has been, ‘Yes of course, the more the merrier’ but we haven’t really shouted about it – until now that is!
We are opening up the Facebook group to any OTs in the UK studying for a doctorate and hoping, that if you’re studying for a doctorate, you’ll join and help us to grow this doctoral community.
The Facebook group is a private group which means that all of the posts are visible only to members of the group.
If you would like to join, you will need a Facebook account. Log into your account and search for the Occupational Therapy Doctoral Network Facebook page and then submit a request to join the group.
Once you’ve joined the group we’d love to know more about what you’re doing. Tell us where you are studying you doctorate and how far into your studies you are.
We understand that not everyone has or wants a Facebook account and it’s been a challenge to find a single location that suits everyone. Facebook was the place that the majority of people were familiar with and happy to use.
We would love you to join us and be part of the Occupational Therapy doctoral network and we’d also love you to help us spread the word amongst the UK OT doctoral community.
Looking forward to connecting with you and if you’d like any more information please get in touch with me via the comments section below
